Lutsen Resort's activity and recreation staff are trained professionals who live and play in the North Shore of Minnesota. They love to share their knowledge and skills with our guests. Join them in a variety of activities at the resort and in the surrounding North Shore area. Whether you are looking for a peaceful early morning stretching class, a hike along a cascading waterfall, or an exciting cross country ski tour, we know our staff will enhance your stay!

  Drew Price

Director of Activities & Recreation

Born and Raised in Duluth, Minnesota, Drew is returning to the North Shore after a 5 year hiatus in California and is thrilled about having a real winter again. Drew graduated from UMD with an outdoor recreation education degree and worked most recently as a program director for a kid's summer camp in the mountains near Lake Tahoe. His hobbies include hiking, kayaking, x-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, canoeing, camping, cooking, beat boxing and beard growing.



Ian Hails from St Paul, Minnesota but fits right in here in the north woods. Ian graduated from Winona State University with a degree in Adventure Recreation and Tourism. In the summer, Ian also work at North House Folk School as the captain of the Hjordis. A lover of the outdoors, Ian's hobbies include weight lifting, fishing, hunting, sailing, camping, motorcycling, karaoke and talking really loudly.


Growing up in Lutsen, Molly has spent many summers paddling the Boundary Waters and along the shores of Lake Superior. During the winter she works at Lutsen Mountains as a ski and snowboard instructor.  The last three years she has been going to school on the coast of Maine at Bowdoin College and will graduate with a degree in Art and Education next fall. Molly’s hobbies include whitewater and sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, fishing, knitting, skiing, snowboarding, trail running, and exploring.

Jacob N.

Born and Raised in Crosby-Ironton, Minnesota, Jacob graduated from Vermilion Community college with a Wilderness Management Degree, Wilderness Emergency Medical Services and Wildlife Ecology Certificate. Jacob plans on attending either UMD or the University of Idaho to peruse a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Resources or a Teaching degree in Biology. Most Recently worked at Itasca State Park as a Park Naturalist near Park Rapids Minnesota. Jacob is and outdoor enthusiast enjoying everything it has to offer. Hobbies include Mt. biking, canoeing/kayaking, grilling with friends, golfing, snowboarding, skiing, swimming, fishing, hunting/trapping, singing, trail running, many more and working with wildlife. Jacob has been looking forward of working on the North Shore it’s been a dream of his for some time now.       


Yarrow grew up in a small, rural village in upstate New York. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Prescott College. Yarrow splits his time between making art and venturing in the outdoors.  His primary interests are painting, digital and analogue photography, hiking, cycling, ultimate frisbee, trail running, playing the fiddle, SCUBA, kayaking and cooking for friends. He fell in love with the North Shore and the Sawtooth Mountains last summer and is excited to be back for a second season!

 Jacob O.

Born and raised in corn country, Blue Earth, MN, Jacob ventured north and has recently graduated from Vermilion Community College in Ely, MN studying Outdoor leadership and will be attending University of Duluth in the fall continuing his pursuit in Outdoor Recreation and Education. Jacob has lead College backpacking trips and winter camping trips. He was a Head Counselor for a camp near Brainard, MN and his hobbies include hiking, camping, fishing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, paddling anything and looking for the goofiest hats he can find.


A native of the Bloomington, Minnesota, Josh graduated from the University of Minnesota – Duluth with a degree in marketing this spring.  Since his younger years, Josh has spent time during the summers hiking and visiting state parks as well as canoeing.  In his spare time, Josh enjoys; traveling, writing and recording music, biking, hiking, basketball, kayaking, hunting, golfing and camping.
